As Senior Engineering Manager at Vitally, you will lead highly skilled engineers across our cross-functional engineering teams. You will be responsible for the delivery of your team. You will be working with product, design, and the rest of the engineering organization as well as your stakeholders to define and deliver a roadmap. You will mentor and coach your engineers and help them grow their skills and career. As part of the Engineering leadership team, you will play a critical role in defining our culture, values, priorities, and processes as we experience tremendous growth and change.

  • Exceptional communicator, within your team, within engineering, and with the organization at large.

  • You have high empathy for people. You care deeply about the growth of engineers and teams. You find great satisfaction in helping others level help and succeed.

  • You are an exceptional engineer with excellent problem-solving skills. You are able to keep your engineering team focused on delivering impact.

  • Recruit and hire engineers on your team and on other teams, raise and advocate new positions on your team.

  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, designers, and others to plan and execute work

  • Carry out performance management duties for your direct reports via just in time feedback, 1:1s, annual reviews, and continuous improvement opportunities

  • Consistently provide ongoing technical mentorship and general professional development for your direct reports and other engineers at Vitally

  • You’ve worked professionally for at least 3 years as an engineering manager, managing one or multiple engineering teams

Additional points if you:

  • Have worked in startups and experienced the challenges of rapidly growing organizations

  • You lead organizational initiatives such as mentorship programs, training programs, post-mortems, or any other initiatives that made the organization better.

  • Salary: We offer a competitive salary given both your experience as well as location here in NYC (although remote is also totally fine). The comp band for all engineering roles starts at $180,000 and increases based on the skill and seniority of the candidate.
